We are proud to be partnering with the National Alliance for Filipino Concerns (NAFCON) in support of workers and their families impacted by the Maui wildfires. We grieve the 100+ lives taken by the wildfires in Maui.
Only 25% of land scorched has been searched by rescue teams,
& there are still 1,300 people missing.
Only 10 days since the onset of the deadliest wildfires recorded in history, and local residents are already receiving offers from real estate agents attempting to buy up their land.
The long-term impacts of this latest climate emergency will be felt hardest by local, frontline, poor, and working-class Hawaiians. Instead of being given the necessary support to mourn this collective loss and trauma, they are forced to defend their lands and livelihood.
